Boat racing festival

Boat racing festival held this year along with Lantern Festival (Full moon of the 1st month), its aim to  preserve the traditional culture for years.
In the riverside villages , Hoi An beach ,boat racing is an indispensible living culture , usually takes place during new year from 2nd to 7th January, February for fishing festival on the full moon and pray for peace around lunar mid-March. According to popular conception, boat racing is an opportunity to please the mountain and water gods who bless the villages are  peace. Before each boat racing,  villages bustled to prepare and practice.
Racing winner is the pride of the villagers, means to bring luck in the upcoming seasons.
Boat racing festivals today are not only intended to preserve traditional cultural values, but also attract domestic and international visitors to encourage, even though all the racers are amateur athletes.

Racing includes 8 boats, people on each boat wearing typical color shirt to represent for a business group or citizens in the area.
